Inorganic ions
Suppressed IC is typically the go-to technique for analysis of inorganic ions such as fluoride, chloride and sulfate.
Organic acids
IC, IEC and HILIC – all can be used for analysis of organic acids dependig on the sample and the method demands.
Carbohydrates
IC and HILIC are both suitable for simple carbohydrates, whereas glycan complexes typically require HILIC.
Amino acids
Amino acids and other zwitterionic compounds can be analyzed by HILIC without any derivatization.
